Postman is a comprehensive API platform designed to streamline the entire API lifecycle, from design and development to testing and monitoring. Used by millions worldwide, it simplifies collaboration and facilitates faster API creation.

Postman vs. cURL
#

While tools like cURL enable making HTTP requests from the command line, they lack the organization, collaboration, and visualization features of a dedicated API platform. Postman addresses these limitations.

  • cURL Limitations: Responses are transient, metadata is not readily visible, and collaboration is difficult.
  • Postman Advantages: Provides a clean, organized interface for requests and responses, allows saving and sharing requests, offers detailed metadata (status codes, response times), and fosters team collaboration.
